Cake Ordering FAQs
Everything you need to know before ordering one of our Japanese-inspired cakes, from collection and notice to allergens, celebrations and storage.
Ordering & collection
Do you deliver cakes?
No. Neeko cake orders are currently collection only from our Brighton café at 36 Duke Street, Brighton BN1 1AG. Please transport your cake flat, cool and secure.
How much notice do you need for a whole cake?
Please order at least 48 hours before your preferred collection time. Our cakes are prepared fresh, so advance notice helps us make your order carefully and confirm availability.
Can I order a whole cake for today or tomorrow?
Whole cakes require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. The café may have slices or other items available on the day, but the selection changes and a whole cake cannot be guaranteed without advance ordering.
Where do I collect my order?
Collect from Neeko, 36 Duke Street, Brighton BN1 1AG. Please check our latest opening hours and arrive during your agreed collection window.

Celebrations & custom requests
Do you make birthday and celebration cakes?
Yes. Neeko offers light, Japanese-inspired cakes for birthdays and celebrations, including matcha, strawberry and mille crêpe styles. Explore our guides to birthday cakes in Brighton, matcha cake and Japanese strawberry shortcake.
How far ahead should I order for a party or large celebration?
Please contact us as early as possible. Larger orders and special requests may need more than the standard 48 hours, and availability depends on the date, cake and quantity.
Can I add a message or request a custom design?
Selected cakes may include message or decoration choices on the product page. For anything beyond the options shown online, contact us before ordering. We will confirm what is possible.
How many people will a cake serve?
Serving estimates depend on the cake’s size and how it is cut. Check the individual product page and choose a larger size if you prefer generous portions.
Ingredients, allergens & storage
Where can I find allergen information?
Ingredients and allergens vary by cake. Check the individual product page and contact us before ordering if you have an allergy or dietary requirement. Our kitchen handles milk, eggs, wheat/gluten, nuts, soya and other common allergens. We can only confirm suitability after discussing the specific cake with you.
How should I store my cake?
Keep fresh-cream cakes refrigerated and level until shortly before serving. Follow the product or packaging instructions. Many fresh cakes are best enjoyed on the day of collection.
Should I let the cake warm before serving?
Some cakes taste best after a short time at room temperature. Where the product instructions recommend it, allow around 20–30 minutes before serving. Do not leave fresh-cream cakes unrefrigerated for longer than advised.
Can I buy cake by the slice?
Selected cake styles may be available by the slice in the café. The daily selection varies, so visit us or contact the team if you are looking for a particular flavour.
Need to change an order?
Contact us as soon as possible. We will try to help, but changes cannot be guaranteed once ingredients have been ordered or preparation has started.
